Internships

Notable Brands
Affiliate Partnerships Marketing Intern - Power Digital Marketing

June 2023 - August 2023

During my summer internship, I worked within the Affiliate Partnerships department at Power Digital Marketing. I helped manage about 5-6 clients from diverse sectors of the market such as clothing, supplement, footwear, water bottles, and food. Most of my time was spent adding to our clients media lists and pitching to editors via email. I achieved this by finding editors on Muck Rack and creating pitch emails to secure features with top, middle and bottom funnel partners or publications. In return, we offered these editors samples of the products and an exclusive commission rate through the brand’s affiliate program. I also had the opportunity to craft competitor analyses and help complete monthly reports. Throughout my time at Power, I used Affluent and Impact—both affiliate marketing platforms—to help examine performance reports for our clients. This position has helped me understand the importance of affiliate marketing and has taught me how to produce storytelling content from data.

Involvement

VP of Member Development - Kappa Kappa Gamma, Eta Gamma Chapter

February 2023 - February 2024

I’m honored that I was elected to serve on my sorority’s executive board as our VP of Member Development. My main focus throughout this role was working as our DEI Director. With the help from my DEI committee, I published bi-weekly anti-racism newsletters for our chapter. The newsletters covered social justice topics that may have been relevant during that time as a resource for members to educate themselves. Personally, I strongly value that everyone feels like their voice is heard and identities are seen, so this resource was a beneficial way to cultivate a welcoming environment for all. In this role, I strengthened my leadership skills and discovered a sense of community among a group of inspiring women.

Media Coordinator - Dance Marathon at the University of San Diego

August 2022 - May 2023

I joined Dance Marathon at the beginning of my sophomore year. I was drawn towards this club as I was looking for a way to give back towards the local community, and Dance Marathon’s mission is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for pediatric health issues at our local hospital, Rady Children’s Hospital. My first semester of junior year was when I began my media coordinator position for this organization. My main responsibility was managing and creating content for the social media platforms to generate awareness and support of Dance Marathon throughout campus. The main platform that we utilized was Instagram. As a result, I became an avid Canva user–the resource I used to design the posts. I’m grateful to have had this opportunity because it was my first marketing related job and I learned how to increase engagement by examining data insights.

Seasonal Positions

Barista - The Olive Baking Company

October 2023 - Present

I began working part-time as a barista at a local bakery in Mission Beach this past October. Although most of my time during business hours is spent serving customers and preparing their coffee drinks and pastries, after closing, our focus shifts to preparing and packaging wholesale orders for other cafes and restaurants. This role has allowed me to hone my strong customer service skills to improve guest experiences and quickly resolve inquiries. Additionally, my time management skills have significantly improved since acquiring this position as I work about 20 hours/week while also prioritizing my studies.

Hostess & Food Runner - Diego Pops

Summer of 2021 & 2022

During the summers of 2021 and 2022, I worked in a fast-paced, popular local restaurant. At the height of the dinner rush, strong communication was essential. I greeted guests personally while also taking phone orders, maintaining the waitlist, and ensuring that the food servers were adequately supported to serve their customers. As a food runner, I worked hard to ensure all guests’ meals were delivered simultaneously with the correct food. Growing up within the restaurant industry has shown me the value of collaboration between different departments, and how deeply this impacts success.
